PMC Biogenix specialty esters, offered under the Kemester brand name, are used in a wide variety of applications from personal care to lubricant additives. 

For personal care applications, our specialty esters provide unique emulsifying properties such as pearlescence in shampoos and hair detanglers or as an emollient and solvent for cosmetic applications. They are also a replacement for mineral oil in creams and lotions, hair preparations, make-up, lipstick, and shaving creams and as a blending agent for high pigment loading formulations.

Specialty esters may also be used as a compatibilizer, solvent or friction modifier in a variety of lubricant, metalworking and inks and coatings formulations.  PMC Biogenix has the capability and routinely tailors specialty esters based on unique carbon-chain distributions, alcohol, degree of substitution and degree of unsaturation of the carbon chain.

Specialty esters may be designed wholly  from renewable feedstocks for  a variety of applications.  Our technical staff combined with the pilot scale manufacturing facilities at our  Center for Renewable Chemistry, can assist in developing new applications and new chemistries based on natural, renewable resources.
